The structure of the Glyco Protein used by Simeons was first determined in Glasgow at 3.0Ang resolution.
Each molecule has two beta-hairpin loops on one side of a central cystine knot and a long loop on the other.

The GlycoProtein molecule used by Simeons

Surface diagram of Simeons Glyco Protein. The alpha subunit is coloured in blue, the beta subunits in green. Text abridged.

Surface potential of this Glyco Protein. Large positively charged blue region of the molecule (text abridged). The charge, located predominantly on one face of the molecule which, is involved in RECEPTOR BINDING.

Ribbon of both subunits coloured blue for alpha, green for beta. The disulphide bridges are shown in yellow. The molecule is covered in a dot surface coloured by charge.
